Rural LEAP

Locum Education Assistance Program (LEAP) is a national workforce support program funded by the Australian Government Department of Health (DoH) and previously administered by the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). The College had signed a Funding Agreement with the DoH to administer LEAP up to 31 March 2016.

From 1 April 2016 administration of Rural LEAP will be included in the new Rural Locum Assistance Program (LAP) that is to be managed by Aspen Medical. If you require further details please check the web site at which also has an enquiries e-mail and phone number available.

Existing participants and new applicants will now be dealt with under the new program and full details will be available soon.

The College is proud of the assistance LEAP has been able to offer to rural GPs and would like to express its appreciation to the Australian Government for funding the program for the benefit of rural doctors and their communities around Australia.
