RPL and the Independent Pathway

A provisional Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) outcome is a prerequisite for applying for the Independent Pathway.

Independent Pathway applicants must apply for RPL prior to applying for a position of the Independent Pathway. Applications remain open all year with a cut off date imposed to anyone wanting to apply to the next cohort to allow enough time for RPL applications to be processed in time prior to the Independent Pathway applications closing.

All applications must be made electronically using the online form and must be supported by independent, verifiable documentation relevant to each period of experience, training, or assessment for which recognition is being sought. RPL will only be awarded with supporting evidence being provided at the time of the application submission.

Application requirements:

The Provisional RPL process provides you with an indication of what RPL you will be awarded. The RPL outcome is finalised as part of the application process.

For further information, read the Fellowship Training Handbook section seven.

Registrars training with RVTS or an AGPT training provider submit their application through their training provider. The training provider checks that the application is complete and has the required supporting documentation. The training provider then makes a recommendation for RPL and submits the application to the College.

Applicants should refer to their RTO to obtain the application form or contact RPL@acrrm.org.au after a training position has been secured.

For further information, read the Fellowship Training Handbook.
