Academic Posts

Academic Posts are an AGPT training term where registrars learn academic skills through individualised learning plans with mentoring and support from RTOs, universities and the College.

Academic Posts provide exposure to research and the academic environment and encourages registrars to incorporate academic work into their careers.

The College offers funding for five Academic Posts each year. The funding includes salary equivalent to a university lecturer (0.5 FTE), professional development funding and research funding.

ACRRM registrars are able to undertake an academic training term while completing Advanced Specialised Training in Academic Practice, Population Health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health or Remote Medicine.  Incorporating an academic training term during Primary Rural and Remote Training can be considered on a case by case basis.
